Our hero is Roxor Beatitude. He is the friend of a friend of a friend of everyones’ friend and many smart people that like to drink lots and lots of drinks (like beer) tend to talk about him over and over again. I hear about him so much that book just pop into the head. I have to get the real story of this crazy dwarven fighter from old times. Best way to do that is to eavesdrop, but people don’t like that too much. So I listen while cleaning tables, mopping floor, snuffing candles. Nobody minds too much the indentured servant that overhears their tales, regardless of how free that ‘servant’ actually is. I’m just grateful that these drinking places ‘hire’ my kind of people to do these kinds of ‘jobs’. It makes the sneaking around SO very much easier.

Legend has it that Roxor was from an old line of crazy dwarves that lived very far under the ground. It is said about those dwarves that men of the day would rather have fought a wild boar than get into a bar fight with one of them. Their life was simple and hard and had been for many thousands of years. Those that survived to come up onto the surface world and be known by man were so tough and ferocious that some wanted to hunt them. In time, they became known as the Battlerager Dwarves from the Depths; on account of their love to do battle for any little argument.

It gets said that those dwarves were Roxor’s dwarves, but others say there were no Battlerager Dwarves from the Depths (BDD). I call those people crazy and do not include their ideas here because they are wrong ideas.

More is known about what Roxor did before his tales started getting told from bar to bar. That is how stuff got remembered in those old days, all story telling. That stuff that is more, though, is hard to find and so I haves only some of it now. If there are more stories, find me ‘working’ at the busiest bar of the season and I will want to listen to you.

So, Roxor. People say he got raised with fists and elbows, the true life of a BDD. Everyone got him ready to do war. He could fight off many other dwarves before submitting, which is how those crazy BDD trained. They actually fought each other, on purpose, so they could learn about how stuff in fighting works. (nobody does that anymore). The meaning did not seem to matter, it is said, because Roxor was born to fight. All the people say that, he was a fighter.

Nobody knows how he grew up really, just that it was hard (by our thinking). Something is said about a brother and two sisters, and less about a wife. None of it can be taken as full truth, because only a few drunks said stuff about it in any good details. It could be true though, and sometimes in here I might make reference to some of it all.

Note that the support cast is given good details because Roxor, the drunks say, spoke so much about them in his traveling around and stuff.
