Bio:

What a life to live…

Fleeting memories of a thousand lifetimes course through my mind. Lives lived, battles fought, fortunes won and lost. How does one quantify eternity? I shall attempt to do so using these memories gifted to me.

My most recent reincarnation occurred about 30 years ago. Like the others before it, I spent the first few days in a haze as images flooded my mind from my previous existence. Once cleared, I made my way towards the closest civilization I could find to see what the fates had decided for this life.

The town itself was small. A few shops, homes and farmsteads making up it population. On a hill just outside of town stood a great monastery to a God of some distinction. As I made my way towards it, the symbols of the god came into view and I was soon bathed in a divine light that seemed to penetrate the very fiber of my being. I felt a purity and warmth that I had not experienced in recent memory. At once I knew what my calling for this life was to be.

I entered the monastery and asked to speak to the high priest. The human, Daegon as he was called, agreed to meet with me and I professed to him my desire to join the faith. Daegon’s stern face, weathered by years of sun and battle, eyed me closely, unsure if my slight frame would be up to the task of serving the God of Storms and Battle. “Do you know what it means to serve a God such as Kord?” he asked. I thought for a moment, “I am young in this life and have many things to learn.” I replied. Daegon appeared to appreciate the honesty of the answer. “Then learn you shall as we are no ordinary monastery. Here we train agents of Kord to serve as the tip of his spear. Here we train the divine to combat forces that seek destruction. Do you feel you can serve in this role?”

I proudly stood before Daegon and lowered myself to one knee. “I seek to serve that which is greater than I and shall do so until this body is no longer capable.” Deagon reached down and touched my shoulder. “Then you shall serve.”

I spent the better part of the next few years learning the way of the Avenger to become the top of Kord’s spear. Training in combat, tactics and scripture. In the little spare time allotted to me, I chose to study history and to make some sense of the memories in my head that had not been seen by these eyes. As the years past, Daegon began to send me out on quests in the service of Kord. Some of these involved the freeing of captives from local skirmishes to slaying malevolent tyrants whom used fear and treachery to enslave their people.

Slavery has always struck a cord in my heart. The evilness of forcing a sentient being to be sold for profit and made to labor until death with no freedom is more than I can stand. Sensing this, Daegon told me of a rumor that the son of a Lord in the Nentir Vale had been kidnapped, possibly to be sold into slavery. The man knows how to get the fire in my blood raging. I agreed at once to aid in his return. Daegon gave me what directions he could and told me that Kord would guide me the rest of the way.

I set out soon after making my preparations. I traveled alone and made sure to keep to the main road and stop in many of the towns to seek more information. It was not until reaching Fallcrest did I pickup a trial. It appeared that a band of adventures had taken up this quest and had set out for Thunderspire Mountain. It was also here that I came across another of my kind, a priest of Bahamut named Oris, seeking to bring justice to the lawless. We shared a drink in the local tavern and I told him of my quest to free slaves. Seeing the righteousness of my quest, we agreed that traveling together would benefit both.

So we set forth in our combined quest, Oris to deliver justice, myself to deliver retribution on those that seek to harm.
